HiLo Terms of Service
(aka: The Chill, No-Legalese Version)
1. What This Is
HiLo is a simple app that shows you tide info using NOAA’s free and open API. That’s it. No hidden fees, no ads, no tracking—just tides.
2. Your Data (or Lack Thereof)
We don’t collect any personal information. The only thing we use is your location, but only if you give us permission. We need it to show you tide data relevant to where you are. If you don’t want to share your location, no worries—you can still check tides manually.
3. What We’re Responsible For (and What We’re Not)
We try our best to make sure HiLo gives you accurate tide info, but we’re just the messengers. The data comes from NOAA, and we can’t guarantee it’s always perfect. Don’t use HiLo for life-or-death decisions (like planning a deep-sea expedition or outrunning a tsunami). Also, we’re not responsible if something breaks, if the app has a bug, or if your phone suddenly decides to take a swim.
4. Third-Party Stuff
HiLo pulls data from NOAA’s API. That means their terms apply to the data they provide. If NOAA ever changes or removes their API, HiLo might stop working, and that’s out of our hands.
5. Updates and Changes
We might update HiLo from time to time. If we ever change something major (like adding new features or adjusting how location permissions work), we’ll do our best to let you know.
6. Legal Stuff (Because We Have To)
HiLo is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. By using the app, you agree that we’re not liable for any issues, losses, or unexpected mermaid encounters that might result from using HiLo.
